String Fling is an annual fundraising gala to support the educational programming at the Center for Puppetry Arts. It was decided that this year’s event would have an Art Deco theme with the name “Puppet Takeover”.

As a playful interpretation of the name the key visual would be colossal puppeteer taking control of the venue itself. After several sketches I devised a figure that resembled a traditional harlequin puppeteer in distinctive Art Deco attire.

The key visuals and typography were applied to all print collateral for the event as well as promotional material and signage.
